Northcott has presented the CPSU NSW with a series of proposals that, if implemented, would result in extensive changes to the employment arrangements of transferred staff, including seeing pay cuts ranging from $2.00 to $9.00 per hour.
In addition to a reduction in the base rate pay for transferred staff, Northcott wants to:
Reduce access to overtime
Reduce shift allowances
Pay already accrued leave at the lower proposed rate of pay
Remove the ADD hour shift loading
Reduce sick leave accrual
Remove the ability to accrue extra annual leave instead of receiving penalty rates
Abolish the minimum shift length for full time employees
Abolish special paid sick leave
Reduced access to paid parental leave as it will require extended length of service and will not be provided to temporary staff
Abolish access to extended leave entitlement for those employees who have not reached the accelerated accrual.
