TAFE RESTRUCTURE UPDATE – Nov 2019 (PDF version)
On Monday 25 November the CPSU NSW sought an urgent teleconference with TAFE NSW in an attempt to resolve our dispute regarding the announced restructure.
A teleconference did occur in the afternoon, however TAFE NSW was unable to provide an undertaking to extend their proposed one-week consultation period, and to put the restructure on hold until this occurs.
As a result of the breakdown in talks and the urgency of the situation the CPSU NSW filed a dispute application with the Fair Work Commission on the afternoon of Monday 25 November 2019.
The matter has been listed before Deputy President Anna Booth for Friday 29 November 2019 at 8:00am.
See our video announcement HERE.
The CPSU NSW has written to the Minister for Skills and Tertiary Education, The Hon. Dr Geoff Lee MP pointing out that he has signed off on Change Management Plans that are in breach of the TAFE Commission of NSW Administrative, Support and Related Employees Enterprise Agreement 2019.
The union is seeking that he directs TAFE NSW to immediately halt all proceedings in relation to the restructure and job cuts that he has authorised, until the provisions of the Enterprise Agreement are legally adhered to. A copy of the letter can be viewed HERE.
Please continue to provide your feedback to the CPSU NSW on how you believe the restructure will affect you.
CPSU NSW members at Ultimo Campus held a union meeting on Tuesday 26 November where they resolved to hold a SNAP LUNCH TIME RALLY on Thursday 28 November at 12.30pm at the stairs entrance on Harris Street. More details will be sent to Ultimo Campus members shortly.
