The PSA CPSU NSW is committed to advocating for workplaces where all employees feel valued and supported. Ensuring accessibility, equity and opportunity for those with disability is a priority, and we believe all of our members should work in places that meet these values.
As part of this effort, your union is hosting a Disability Inclusion Day in June. This will be an opportunity to engage in open discussions, share insights and develop strategies for the PSA to help make the public service more inclusive and support for members with disabilities.
To help us better understand the experiences of our members in preparation of this day, we invite members to fill out a confidential survey found HERE. Your feedback will be instrumental in shaping our disability-inclusivity efforts.
The PSA CPSU NSW recognises that many members with disability choose not to disclose their condition in the workplace. Whether due to stigma, fear of bias, or simply personal preference, this can impact access to necessary support and accommodations. This is a hurdle we hope we can help members clear, and hope this is the first step to workplaces where these stigmas and biases don’t exist.
We encourage all members with disability, or those caring duties for people with disability, to join us in shaping the PSA’s plans in the future. For those who cannot attend in person, we will be making other arrangements. Therefore, everyone’s feedback is very important.
