Final draft of the Psychosocial Risk Assessment: University of Wollongong Transition for consultation

We are pleased to share the final draft of the Psychosocial Risk Assessment: UOW Transition. This document has been developed to address the psychosocial risks associated with the ongoing transformation at the University of Wollongong (UOW), ensuring the well-being of all staff during this period of significant change.

Key highlights

  • Organisational change Ensuring timely information, consultation opportunities, and training to mitigate the risks associated with organisational changes.
  • Providing support Providing adequate support and care during the change process, including access to counselling and mental health services.
  • Managing work demands Managing increased workloads and ensuring staff have the resources and support needed to cope with additional demands.
  • Supporting our workplace relationships Promoting positive workplace behaviours and addressing any conflicts or negative behaviours promptly.
  • Supporting role clarity Clarifying roles and responsibilities during and after the transition to reduce confusion and stress.

I want to confirm that the controls listed are either already in place or currently being rolled out (such as additional peer support mechanisms). We have had wonderful co-operation from our Management Representatives on the Committee in supporting the further initiatives suggested.
