International Office restructure

Negotiations continue over the PSA (CPSU’s) dispute about changes made to the International Office structure.

Our bulletin on 24 June 2015 gives background detail.

In subsequent meetings with management, the PSA (CPSU) asked for a written rationale of the change.

The rationale revolves around an expected fall in international student revenue.

The PSA (CPSU) continued to ask why changes mainly affected one stream of workers.

After further consideration, the university agreed it was possible to spread the impact more evenly across the unit. The fixed-term positions will now be:

1 x Admission Assistant, International Admissions (HEW 4)

2 x International Engagement Officers  (HEW 6) – one in Sydney

1 x Global Engagement Officer (HEW 6)

In a positive outcome for the union, the university has assured the PSA that ongoing employees who accept a fixed-term role will retain their ongoing status and entitlement to redundancy or separation provisions at the end of their contract.

Financial Services restructure

The implementation of this structure should be underway. If you are experiencing any difficulties in relation to this change, please
