Thank you to all the members who contacted the CPSU NSW regarding the Northcott restructure. Your union received feedback primarily around the proposed cuts to the Service Coordinator role. The CPSU NSW knows that members are increasingly stressed and overwhelmed by the work expected by Northcott.
Your union and Northcott met last week. During the meeting the CPSU NSW questioned Northcott on its proposal to decrease the number of service coordinators while increasing the number of houses a service coordinator will be responsible for. The union highlighted the additional workload and safety implications the proposed changes will have on members and Northcott clients. In response, Northcott advised it would be willing to share its risk assessments.
Northcott is obligated to discuss and share information regarding the impacts of the proposed restructure with the union. The CPSU NSW is very eager to review Northcott’s processes and the methods undertaken to determine the workload and number of houses allocated to service coordinators. Until Northcott consults properly and shares the required information, the restructure cannot go ahead as Northcott has not fulfilled its obligations under the Northcott Enterprise Agreement.
