The CPSU NSW bargaining team attended bargaining today and strongly reiterated that the Professional Staff at Western Sydney University (WSU) should have ownership over their Enterprise Agreement and be the only ones to vote for it. We also discussed the document that the University bargaining team has posted on the SharePoint site.
The university releasing a document that depicts a proposed single agreement was not only a surprise to the union and our members, but it was also not good faith bargaining. The university has agreed that they should relook at how they have portrayed their document, and a change on the SharePoint site should happen soon.
Your bargaining team have NOT agreed to a single agreement and won’t do so, as we strongly believe that the agreements should remain separate documents. This is a firmly held view of the CPSU NSW membership as well.
Our message to you is that you should continue to provide feedback to the University that you want to maintain separate agreements. This message must continue to be sent to them again and again, in any forum that you can. Whether that is in the staff culture survey, in feedback on the Enterprise Bargaining SharePoint site, yammer, staff forums, wherever it can be said.
The University say that they want to hear from staff, let’s keep letting them know your position. Your voice must be heard!
We are looking at next steps and be seeking your help in our campaigns in the future.
