CPSU NSW members would be aware that the Community Living Award is set to expire later this year.
Disability Services Australia (now Scope) were awarded the contract for disability services on 13 December 2018. In what appears to be an administrative error, Scope incorrectly advised affected staff that the copied state awards would expire on 30 November 2023. A copy of the Scope letter to employees is available here.
Following inquiries from concerned CPSU NSW members, we contacted Scope to raise the apparent disparity in dates. We are pleased to advise that Scope has now agreed with CPSU NSW that the expiry date of the copied state awards is indeed 13 December 2023.
To alleviate any potential under/over payments to CPSU NSW members, Scope went one step further and advised CPSU NSW that it would commence the transition to the SCHaDS Award at the start of the following pay period. This is a pragmatic and sensible decision which is welcomed by CPSU NSW.
We understand that Scope has now issued an email to affected staff correcting the transition date off the SCHaDS Award.
CPSU NSW members will be covered by the SCHaDS Award from Monday, 18 December 2023.
