CPSU NSW is participating as your bargaining representative in the negotiations for a replacement Enterprise Agreement.
Your current Enterprise Agreement nominally expired on 30 June 2023.
The parties to the Agreement had undertaken to focus on pay and related matters in bargaining for the replacement Agreement.
The parties had also agreed to use an approach to negotiation called Interest Based Bargaining (IBB).
To summarize, this approach involves the parties identifying their respective interests to each other that they wish to satisfy and seeking to accommodate those interests in their negotiation.
CPSUNSW identified as one of their primary interests the need to obtain a wage increase that met cost of living increases, and together with the joint unions have put forward several successive claims to address this, which have not been agreed.
Since the initial bargaining meetings were held Water NSW have confirmed that the parameters for bargaining are a 4% increase + 0.5 increase in the superannuation guarantee levy and a 1-year term. Any variation in this requires approval from the Expenditure Review Committee.
WaterNSW has now put forward its options for consideration by the Unions and the CPSU would like to consult with members about these prior to the next bargaining meeting on 24 July 2023.
You are invited to attend one of the following on-line meetings so you can be briefed about these proposals in more detail and provide your feedback.
