LWB met with the CPSU NSW to announce a proposed Master Roster for South East Sydney. LWB intends to introduce a Master Roster for other areas in due course and will consult further with the union and staff on any proposed change.
As part of the consultation process LWB will be holding meetings with affected staff in South East Sydney to inform them of the proposed change with the first meeting already held today and a second scheduled tomorrow. The union will be in attendance. Staff are encouraged to raise their views as part of the consultation process.
The changes to rostering are based on client funding and the roster of care (ROC) for the client.
The process is to make the proposed changes in a Draft Master Roster available to staff in the house who can raise their issues as part of the consultative process with the DSL and LWB. As part of consultation around Master rosters there will be the opportunity for staff to have individual meetings with their DSL and with a support person, which can be a union representative.
Casuals are not included in the Master roster however casuals will be given the opportunity to apply to be made permanent. Part time staff can also request a change or an increase in their hours.
The proposed change provides 2 weeks’ notice of the change and allows staff to raise their concerns prior to the implementation date on the 3 July 2023.
The union raised issues in relation to staff who have current arrangements such as caring responsibilities, secondary employment, study or other personal commitments. LWB said they can raise those issues as part of the consultation process.
