Parklea Enterprise Agreement: Vote NO

As you may be aware, the Enterprise Agreement (EA) vote is set to commence tomorrow. The union is encouraging all members to vote NO to MTC’s latest offer.

Union members have been involved in a lengthy industrial action campaign, whilst negotiations for the EA started almost a year ago. During this time, MTC has moved slightly on the wages offer, but has yet to come to the table with anything worth considering.

It is really important to remember that a ‘no’ vote doesn’t mean further industrial action. Again, what we want to do is force MTC back to the table to see if it is willing to entertain a better offer. Hopefully, these negotiations will recommence under a new government.

Failing any movement on this front, we will seek the assistance of the Fair Work Commission in resolving the wages dispute. However, all of this is only possible if members overwhelmingly reject MTC’s offer.

It is equally as important that you vote in the first place. Large turnout will only demonstrate to MTC that you are engaged in the process, and that you are opposed to the offer.

Vote early, and VOTE NO.
