Parklea Enterprise Agreement: Vote NO

After numerous failed attempts at the access period, MTC has finally issued the correct document for review. This means the vote will commence as advised next week, and the Enterprise Agreement (EA) you’re voting on will be the last document that was sent to members. This time, it contains the correct wage figures.

The union’s survey results show that more than 90 per cent of members are not happy with MTC putting out the offer to a vote. The union is encouraging all members to vote NO to the offer next week when the vote commences. It is absolutely critical that you do vote and have your say.

Remember: a NO vote doesn’t mean further industrial action. At this point, a NO vote will simply allow the union to force MTC back to the table to see if we can negotiate a better pay offer. We understand that three stoppages have had a large financial impact on members, and it is our goal to reach an agreement on a wages offer that is decent, without having to take any further industrial action.

The union can also seek the assistance of the Fair Work Commission in resolving the pay dispute. This is something that we will do if members vote no to the offer and MTC refuses to table a better offer afterwards.

This vote is incredibly important, so once again – remember to vote, and make sure that you vote NO to MTC’s dismal wage increase.
