Parklea stoppage and Enterprise Agreement vote

Firstly, thank you for participating in yesterday’s rally. We had approximately 80 members turn up and, as per usual, the media coverage was excellent.

Of course, we started the day with an interview on 2GB. You can listen to Luke Grant interviewing the General Secretary of the PSA/CPSU NSW, Stewart Little, HERE.

Channel 7 gave the stoppage a fantastic run on the news, which you can watch HERE. NCA NewsWire also published a lengthy piece on the stoppage. You can read it HERE.

The turnout yesterday was absolutely incredible and every member who turned up deserves a massive thank you. The fight against MTC isn’t over, but we’ve come a long way from where we started. The only way that members will receive a decent wage offer is by taking action, like we did yesterday. This is a battle that will be won in the media as much as on the ground, and so the coverage that we have received makes a huge different.

As you know, MTC hasdecided to put the Enterprise Agreement out to a vote, regardless of the fact that members have already rejected this offer. The vote is due to commence, and when it does, every member should vote NO and reject the offer. This will force MTC back to the bargaining table, where we will have the opportunity to ask for a better deal than that which has been tabled.

Once again, this fight has the full support of the entire PSA/CPSU NSW and every member who took part yesterday should be incredibly proud.

As always, if you would like to talk to someone from the union in the meantime, please contact Mark Ward or Brian Kirk. You can also call Jess on 0401 521 561 or Kim on 0408 249 277.
