TAFE Managers Enterprise Agreement

The CPSU NSW has been advised that TAFE have decided to put the TAFE Managers Enterprise Agreement out to a vote, with the access period commencing today and continuing for the next seven days.

Neither the CPSU NSW nor the Teachers Federation were informed that the Enterprise Agreement would be going out for the access period today. It is the view of the unions that bargaining was still ongoing. Both unions were opposed to TAFE’s dismal 0.3 per cent backpay offer, and argued in favour of TAFE Managers receiving a higher wage increase than what has been tabled by TAFE.

Notwithstanding the fact that TAFE’s offer is inadequate, it is completely outrageous that TAFE thought it appropriate to put the Enterprise Agreement out to a vote without first advising the unions that this was the course of action.

It is the strong view of the CPSU NSW that any member covered by the TAFE Managers Enterprise Agreement votes no – this will allow the unions to go back to the bargaining table and negotiate a better deal with TAFE.
