Your union was onsite this week to conducted an online survey regarding MTC’s offer, with the intention of providing this feedback your employer. The feedback we received was overwhelming negative; more than 90 per cent of employees have rejected the offer. MTC was advised of this earlier today.
Your union is now seeking direction regarding our next stoppage. We put out a survey last week regarding continuing industrial action, but we now seek clear guidance regarding a 48-hour versus 72-hour stoppage.
If a majority of members support a 48-hour stoppage, we will notify MTC of a stoppage happening over a Wednesday and Thursday. If members instead support a 72-hour stoppage, we will notify MTC of a stoppage happening over a Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Again, this is your Enterprise Agreement (EA), and you will always be in charge of everything that happens, including industrial action.
If you could please complete the following survey and indicate your preference, that would be great. You can access the survey HERE. We will be notifying MTC of the next stoppage by no later than next Tuesday, so please make sure you have your say.
As soon as the union has notified MTC of the stoppage, we will advise all members. Please keep an eye out for communications from us over the course of the next few days. If you would like to talk to someone from the union in the meantime, please contact Mark Ward or Brian Kirk. You can also call Jess on 0401 521 561 or Kim on 0408 249 277.
