Mercer Enterprise Agreement Negotiations and Union Meeting – FRIDAY 10 FEBRUARY 2023 at 1:15pm.

The CPSU NSW met with Mercer on 31 January 2023 to continue enterprise agreement negotiations for members.

In the interest of progressing negotiations, mindful of looming major workplace change and the nominal expiration of the current enterprise agreement, the CPSU NSW agreed at the first meeting to facilitate an accelerated agenda. This included extended negotiations sessions of up to 7 hours and additional sessions.

The meeting focused on:

  • Pay – to be concluded
  • Leave
  • Time and process – an issue that must not cloud important amendments to the agreement
  • Length of agreement – Mercer proposes a 2-year agreement

It must be stressed that CPSU NSW members and all employees are NOT bound to the tight schedule proposed by Mercer to close negotiations.

Members are entitled to be heard and not feel pressured to accept any offer at any time.

The CPSU NSW is confident that an agreement can be settled prior to the nominal expiration date of 31 March 2023, but it will take more “YES” than an easy and dismissive “NO” to our claims to get there.

The next meeting is scheduled for 9 February 2023.

Updates will be provided as negotiations continue.

Major Workplace Change – Aware Super

The CPSU NSW and Delegates met with Mercer on 7 February 2023 for a briefing on consultation regarding major workplace change.

The Union will continue to engage with members after Mercer’s official briefing of employees on 8 February 2023.

It is critical that all feedback on any proposed changes is sent to Mercer and the CPSU NSW for support.
