Clarence Correctional Centre Enterprise Agreement vote

Serco have advised it will be putting the Enterprise Agreement out for a vote. This means the access period will be commencing soon. The access period is the seven-day period where you review the document, after which you will have the opportunity to vote on the Enterprise Agreement and therefore have your say.

After years of negotiations and months of industrial action, Serco has tabled its final offer. This includes the new pay rates and a $1000 sign-on bonus, in addition to the automatic progression to CCO3 for approximately one third of the workforce. The Enterprise Agreement is a two-year deal, which means we will be back at the negotiating table in 18 months.

The union acknowledges the slight reduction in the overtime rate has caused concern for a few members. However, the alternative proposal from Serco was that the overtime rate remained in place whilst the hourly rate was reduced to compensate for the overtime. Ultimately, it is for the members to decide whether this is acceptable or not. It is your Enterprise Agreement, and you will have the final say on the offer.

It is the view of the union that this offer, unlike the offers that preceded it, is a good offer. We are recommending the offer to the membership, but the final say is ultimately yours.

We understand Serco will be emailing the Enterprise Agreement to all employees either today or tomorrow, so make sure you keep an eye out for this and that you take the time over the next seven days to read the document carefully before you cast your vote.

In the meantime, if you have any questions regarding the Enterprise Agreement or the voting process, please reach out to the union by calling 1800 772 679. Alternatively, you can send an email to or .
