Clarence Correctional Centre Enterprise Agreement update: Survey results

Firstly, thank you to everyone who filled out the survey. Your answers are so incredibly important in ensuring that all feedback that we give to Serco is accurate and representative of what the membership wants, and so the responses that we got to the survey were helpful.

Whilst the ‘no’ vote is still very high, the margin has decreased slightly since the last survey. That said, the feedback on the offer and the problems with it haven’t changed at all. Out of all of the responses we received, only two did not relate to the overtime issue – every other response indicated that the offer wasn’t problematic except for the fact that the overtime rate had been reduced to pay for the wage increase.

Your union has reached out to Serco and requested that we meet again to discuss this feedback in detail, and to see if we can’t persuade it to keep the overtime rate as it was. Again, Serco has said in no uncertain terms that it won’t budge on this, but we will continue to push for this as it is clearly the biggest issue in the workplace.

As soon as we organise a meeting with Serco, we will send out a bulletin to all members letting you know what it is. In the meantime, please reach out if you have any questions by sending an email to , , or . Alternatively, you can call the CPSU NSW on 1800 772 679.
