CPSU NSW meet with Cerebral Palsy Alliance to commence consultation on expiry of the Community Living Award

On 13 October 2022 representatives of the NSW CPSU, Thane Pearce and Sharny Chalmers, met with members of Cerebral Palsy Alliance (CPA) management to discuss the expiry of the copied state awards (including the Community Living Award), the impact this may have on transferred employees and possible options moving forward. The copied state awards, as they are known under the Fair Work Act 2009,  are set to expire in March 2023, which will generate changes to employment arrangements for transferred employees.

The CPSU NSW emphasised to CPA that our priority was to make the transition as seamless for transferred employees as possible, while ensuring the employment interests of transferred staff were protected.

CPA and the CPSU NSW have agree to continuing good faith consultation over the coming months as we work through the detail and issues arising out of these changes. We will provide regular updates as further information comes to light.
