Australian Catholic University: Return to campus and COVID-19 safety

Your union has received a briefing from ACU management regarding COVID-19 safety on campus upon your return.

Below is what you need to know:

  • There will be Service NSW QR codes at the entrance of every building.
  • If you test positive you must use the staff register to record your COVID-19 status.
  • The university will not use COVID-19 marshals, and will rely on campus security for COVID safety compliance.
  • Air quality checks are conducted by building.
  • Staff must bring their own facemasks. Some masks will be supplied by the university in specific cases.
  • Flexible work arrangements such as working from home are to be managed team by team.
  • Workspaces should have been upgraded to be COVID-safe.

We commend the university for being proactive about putting in place these measures to keep staff and students safe. Of course, there are still concerns around these measures and their effectiveness, and we encourage staff to contact their Health and Safety Representatives (HSRs) if they have any concerns or feedback.
