AUSGRID PABO

The Fair Work Commission (FWC) approved a protected industrial action ballot application made by the CPSU NSW and the USU last week. Unlike the last ballot, this ballot will be conducted electronically. This means that the Australian Election Company will send you an email with a link, which you can access to vote in favour of taking protected industrial action.

Members will receive the following:

  1. The ballot notice.
  2. The Voting Instruction Sheet/Password Advices will be emailed approximately 15 minutes prior to the ballot opening. The Voting Instruction Sheet/Password Advice will contain the link directly to the voting website, and a random password.
  3. Where a mobile phone number is listed for a voter, an SMS containing the link and random password only (approximately 15 minutes prior to the ballot opening).

Members will be required to have their CPSU NSW membership on hand, so if you are not sure of this then you will need to contact the CPSU NSW on 1300 772 679.

It is important that you tick ‘yes’ to all of the actions listed on the ballot, as that will give union members the opportunity to take any and/or all of these actions if the membership decides to do so. If this occurs, CPSU members at Ausgrid will then be legally able to take protected industrial action under the Fair Work Act 2009 (Cth).

Once the ballot vote has occurred, the CPSU will organise a meeting for all members to provide an update on EA negotiations and to discuss our industrial strategy moving forward. In the meantime, if you have any questions concerning the ballot, you can contact the CPSU on 1300 772 679. Do you know someone who isn’t yet a union member but would like to join? If so, they can join online HERE
