As your Enterprise Agreement expires on 30 September 2021, bargaining at the University of Newcastle will be commencing soon.
The CPSU NSW is organised, prepared and ready to engage with members to achieve the best possible outcome for Professional Staff. Earlier this year, CPSU NSW delegates from across the state met to plan and develop strategies and tactics for this Round of Bargaining. See clip HERE.
Your union has developed a DISCUSSION PAPER that provides a framework for engaging CPSU NSW members in a constructive discussion about collective bargaining and your rights at work. The CPSU NSW recognises that this round of bargaining will be the most challenging yet. The COVID-19 pandemic has seen Australian borders shut and international students prevented from domestic study in the country’s universities. Almost overnight many universities lost a critical revenue stream, despite the CPSU NSW and university heads imploring the Commonwealth Government to provide emergency support.
However, this did not occur. In fact, the Government instead excluded public universities from its JobKeeper program. This decision resulted in unprecedented job losses and the variation of Enterprise Agreements as unions and universities tried to mitigate the crisis.
To assist in developing the CPSU NSW log of claims we are inviting all Professional Staff to fill out this survey by COB 13 September 2021. Complete the survey by clicking on the link HERE
