Australian Catholic University: Recovery Budget consultation

Recovery Budget Consultation – Nov 2020 (PDF version)

Your union, the CPSU NSW, wrote to the Australian Catholic University (ACU) on 13 November 2020 as part of the Recovery Budget consultation process.

As part of its submission, the CPSU NSW stated the ACU did not need to make the proposed employee-related savings and that the proposal will have a detrimental impact upon our members. The CPSU NSW submitted that ACU should explore alternative options such as reducing the budgetary surplus and supporting voluntary flexibility arrangements which are already contained in the Enterprise Agreement. You can read the CPSU NSW letter HERE.

The CPSU NSW had a constructive meeting with the ACU on 13 November 2020 to discuss the CPSU NSW submissions and the Recovery Budget process. The ACU and the CPSU NSW agreed to ongoing consultation throughout this process.

The ACU wrote to your union on 18 November 2020, advising it would provide the Recovery Budget and a consultation report to the Senate at its meeting on 3 December 2020. It stated it would include the CPSU NSW letter in its report. You can read the ACU letter HERE.

The CPSU NSW will continue to engage with the ACU to protect your interests and jobs at this difficult time. The CPSU NSW will meet with the university at the ACU Staff Committee meeting on 26 November 2020 and at its extraordinary meeting on 3 December 2020.

The CPSU NSW thanks members for their engagement to date and invites feedback at any stage during this process.
