The ‘Admissions Process Enhancement Pilot’: How will it impact your work?

Admissions Process Enhancement Pilot – Jan 2020 (PDF version)

CPSU NSW Industrial staff and your union delegates have held several meetings over the past few months with the General Manager Student Services, Hugh Greenough, Manager Student Services and Support, Tristan Williscroft, and the TAFE IR Team, to procure information on the workplace changes which will result from the enrolment pilot in Student Services.

The union has put pressure on TAFE to ensure that it is sourcing its own experienced staff in the first instance, to participate in the pilot, as a way of upskilling them. This process should, as we’ve argued, open up all roles to EOIs to ensure transparency and equity.

We are aware that this has not always happened, when it needs to. This will continue to be an item for discussion with the architects of this pilot (namely, upper TAFE management) when we meet again early February.

In the meantime, with the roll-out well underway, we are seeking your input on how you believe this pilot will impact your role.

We want to hear your thoughts.

Specifically:

  • do you believe you will have a greater workload
  • are you being allocated more or less work?
  • is that work above your current grade, such as outside the scope of duties in your PD
  • any other relevant information.

Any information you can provide will be useful in helping the Union understand how this pilot is actually being felt on the ground.

Please get in contact with your relevant union delegates Liz Garlick and Joanna Carroll with your thoughts and/or any questions by 6 February 2020.

Please include the Industrial staff in your email.

We are here to support you.
