CPSU NSW DISPUTES KNEE JERK RESTRUCTURE

CPSU NSW DISPUTES KNEE JERK RESTRUCTURE

On Friday 22 November CPSU NSW delegates and Industrial Staff met with TAFE NSW representatives about proposed changes to ICT, Facilities and Logistics, Student Services, and People and Safety announced on Thursday 21 November 2019.

At that meeting your union was provided with two Draft Change Management Plans titled TAFE NSW Corporate Group – November 2019 and TAFE NSW Delivery Group (Non-Teaching) – November 2019. Your union was told that TAFE NSW proposes to delete 91 permanent staff roles and 105 contingency staff. The union was also provided with a one-week consultation period.

The CPSU NSW  made it clear to TAFE NSW that both Change Management Plans are inadequate, lacking in detail, and have unrealistic timeframes, and that we are unhappy with the process. CPSU – NSW is astounded that this announcement has been made so close to Christmas and with no consultation or justification. Accordingly, the union has written to TAFE NSW disputing the proposed changes. This letter can be read HERE.

TAFE NSW appears to have abandoned the spirit and principles of trust and cooperation which form the basis of Interest Based Consultative process.

STATEMENT FROM DELEGATES

The CPSU- NSW Delegates Council Executive have issued the following statement.

TAFE NSW Delegates Council Executive are appalled and disgusted by the lack of respect and poor treatment of our members and staff.

Doing this just before Christmas knowing that it is the most vulnerable time for staff is a particularly low act. Pathetic!

TAFE NSW appears to have abandoned the spirit and principles of trust and cooperation form the basis of Interest Based Consultative process.

We can assure members that the CPSU NSW has your back and will do everything we can to continue to fight these cuts to TAFE NSW.

Your TAFE NSW Delegates will be meeting on Monday 25 November 2019 to determine our response.
