The USYD Branch of the CPSU NSW Annual General Meeting will be taking place on

  • Wednesday, 29 May 2019

A further notice will go out once a room and time are booked.

The AGM is an important meeting where:

  • the current Branch President provides an annual summary and list of your Delegates’ achievements
  • key positions within the branch are elected, where members like you volunteer to support fellow union members and colleagues
  • information is shared across faculties, divisions and campuses about current issues affecting Professional Staff
  • each member is able to contribute to what your USYD Professional Staff Branch will prioritise and focus on for the next twelve months
  • you, the members who form the USYD Branch, get the opportunity to meet, network and make friends with other Professional Staff union members.

Have you thought about volunteering for the USYD Branch of CPSU NSW?

We ask that you consider volunteering to become a CPSU NSW delegate on the USYD Branch Committee. By volunteering a small bit of your time, you can learn more about what your rights at work consist of, how your rights are created and protected. You will also meet new colleagues, make new friends and help make improvements to the working lives of Professional Staff across the university.

The following positions are available for nomination as per the University of Sydney Branch Charter:

  1. One Branch Delegate for every 40 financial members or part thereof,
  2. President, who will, inter alia, preside at meetings of the Branch and the Branch Committee,
  3. Vice‐President, who will, inter alia, deputise for the Branch President,
  4. Secretary, who will, inter alia, keep the minutes of all meetings of the Branch and of the Committee,
  5. Assistant Secretary, who will, inter alia, assist and deputise for the Secretary,
  6. Women’s Officer, who will, inter alia, promote the interests of women members of the Branch,
  7. Membership Registrar, who will keep a register of all members of the Branch,
  8. Members of the Higher Education Representative Council (HERC), as determined by the constitution of that body, who may also hold other offices in the Branch Committee,
  9. Such other Committee members as may be determined by the Branch from time to time.
