TAFE NSW – Underpayment claims from members

TAFE NSW – Underpayment claims from members – July 2018 (PDF version)

Your union has been advised by members that they have been directed to arrive at work earlier than their start time but also directed to only write their rostered start time on their timesheet.

An example of this would be where your start time is 9am and you are told to come in 10 minutes early to start your computer or lift the roller door ready for work to begin but to only write 9am as the start time on your timesheet.

This is NOT legal and should never happen.

If you have an accident during that time the insurance company may well refuse to pay out on a claim.

If you have been directed to work, your employer must remunerate you for the time worked.

The CPSU NSW will be submitting an underpayment claim for members in this situation.

If you want to be part of this claim you need to:

  1. Join the CPSU NSW
  2. Contact the Member Support Centre on 1300 772 679 or and advise them of your details

It is important you continue to have a say and your voice is heard.

You can support the work of the union and your local delegates by joining the CPSU NSW.

Please forward this to your colleagues so that they know their rights and encourage them to JOIN THE CPSU NSW.

Please note, CPSU NSW members are also members of the Public Service Association of NSW. The PSA is the Associated Body for, and resources and manages, the CPSU NSW
