CPSU NSW Continues to raise members concerns in marketing and recruitment

Southern Cross University – CPSU NSW Continues to raise members concerns in marketing and recruitment
The CPSU NSW has now met twice with management to raise concerns about the current situation in both Marketing and Student Recruitment.

Some of the concerns we have raised include:

  • the conduct and lack of consultation in the 2017 review into the Marketing and Recruitment areas
  • requested access to a copy of the review and its recommendations
  • the total lack of consultation and potential breaches of the Enterprise Agreement from the organisational restructures over the last 18 months across both areas
  • the lack of organisational structure and no transparency in recruitment processes
  • the ongoing culture of fear where staff now fear for their jobs
  • ongoing problems with communication and unclear reporting lines, particularly when engaging with consultants and contractors.

Your union met with the university on Thursday
5 July to get some initial responses to our concerns.

A key discussion point was our request for clarification as to the roles of contractors and consultants when staff are trying to do their jobs. The university has clarified that consultants, contractors and other staff should be communicating through your line manager. Requests and directives should come directly through your line manager, not from consultants.

CPSU NSW RECOMMENDATION FOR ALL MEMBERS

All requests and directives should come through your line manager. Should a consultant, contractor or other staff member make a request of you at work that you feel uncomfortable with, ask them to go through your line manager. We will support members in this decision.

PROTECT YOURSELF BY JOINING THE CPSU RIGHT NOW
