University of NSW – Flextime proposal

University of NSW – Flextime proposal – April 2018 (PDF version)

The CPSU NSW is considering pushing for possible improvements to the flextime provisions in your next Enterprise Agreement. We would be looking to insert a provision that allows Professional Staff to ensure an appropriate flextime policy exists for their work unit.

This is a complex area, and there are many excellent flextime policies existing in different areas of the university. However, not everyone has these good policies, and often policies that benefit Professional Staff are reduced or removed by new managers.

Flexitime was introduced by the CPSU NSW many years ago as a tool to jointly benefit Professional Staff as well as the university. We are continuing to look to defend and improve its operation.

To assist our bargaining representatives with developing a suitable flextime clause, we have developed an online survey. Your details and responses will not be shared with the university and we encourage everyone to provide candid responses.

The link to the survey can be found HERE.

All professional staff are encouraged to complete this survey, whether they are CPSU NSW members or not, in order to have a say on flextime. Please forward this to your colleagues, and if you are not yet in the CPSU NSW, the Professional Staff Union, you can join online HERE.
