The PSA CPSU NSW is inviting members to attend our regional training held in Coffs Harbour on 12 and 13 March 2026. Members are invited to attend both days or an individual day that suits your needs.
Role of the Delegate is a one-day course designed to give workplace delegates the skills and knowledge they need to build power at their workplaces. You will explore the importance of unions, history and the values that underpin them. You will develop your skills utilising tools such as mapping, recruitment conversations and problem-solving frameworks to build power.
This course is open to all members whether you are a delegate, thinking about becoming a delegate or would just like to know more about the role. Delegates who have attended this training before are welcome to come for a refresher.

Work Health and Safety Essentials is a one-day course looking at various rights, entitlements and obligations under the WHS Act 2011 that underpin a safe and healthy workplace. The course will help you find your way around the Act: such as who has a WHS duty, and what is that duty? It will cover topics such as the what, when and how of proper workplace consultation, issue resolution using WHS legislation, and the role of Health and Safety Representatives (HSR), how you get an HSR, and risk management and workplace inspections.

The same training was offered in Ballina on 18 and 19 February 2026, with participants reporting the experience was extremely worthwhile!
All union members are entitled to 12 days’ special leave every two years for union training.

Advise your manager you are attending this training and the PSA will send out leave letters two weeks before the training date.
