Mercer Enterprise Bargaining update: Wage increase to be negotiated this week

Your Union, the CPSU NSW, met again with Mercer late last week to negotiate a new agreement. During the meeting your union put forward claims on behalf of members including claims around the following:

  • The right to a voluntary redundancy in the case that Mercer is sold
  • the calculation of redundancy payments and the inclusion of pay increases
  • Leave issues – the enhancement of personal leave, super on unpaid leave, the cashing out of long service leave and bereavement leave.

There was also a robust discussion around wages and remuneration. The union advised Mercer that members’ would prefer wage increases across the board instead of performance based pay increases which are not necessarily achievable for all members, even when they think they are on track to receive it.

An online member meeting will be held at 12.30pm Wednesday 12 February 2025. Further negotiation around pay will occur this week with Mercer. Members are welcome to provide any feedback to the union via email also.
