When will I be eligible for COVID vaccine?
The NSW Government has stated that vaccines are not compulsory. If your employer says otherwise, please contact the PSA/CPSU NSW.
The Commonwealth Government dictates the priority for COVID vaccine delivery based on individual risk factors and occupational risk factors. Vaccines are provided free of charge for Medicare card holders.
The PSA is encouraging members to participate in the vaccination program to make the workplace safer for all workers. This includes workers who will be unable to respond to the vaccine and can’t build an immunity (vaccine non-responders) and people with underlying medical conditions preventing them from taking the vaccine (for example anaphylaxis). If you believe you are in these categories, the PSA/CPSU NSW encourages you to seek medical advice.
Evidence of a health condition (such as My Health Record) and occupation will need to be provided for earlier phases in order to access vaccine.
Timeframes may vary dependent on vaccine supply.
