Mercer Enterprise Bargaining in 2019 – next steps

Mercer Enterprise Bargaining in 2019 – June 2019 (PDF version)

At the Town Hall Meeting held at Mercer on 25 June 2019, you heard from both Mercer and CPSU NSW representatives about the Interest Based Bargaining Approach.

At the meeting it was noted that

“Negotiations will be facilitated by the Fair Work Commission under the New Approaches Program using an interest-based approach. This means that the parties will identify their respective needs and concerns (interests) and generate a range of options to meet these interests before finalising the terms of the new enterprise agreement. This is different from the traditional approach of debating the parties’ respective logs of claims in an adversarial way.”

The first Enterprise Bargaining meeting facilitated by the Fair Work Commission Deputy President John Kovacic will be held on the 15 July 2019 at Mercer Wollongong.

Your union will be holding members’ meetings in the lead up to the commencement of negotiations to engage with and identify the interests of members.
