As you would be aware, a majority of employees have rejected MTC’s offer. Thank you to everyone who voted, and especially to those who voted to reject the sub-par offer.
The union contacted MTC this morning and reaffirmed our commitment to the bargaining process. We also reiterated that, were MTC to table 3.75 per cent per year over three years with a $2000 sign-on bonus, the union would support it. MTC advised that they would discuss it and report back to the union.
If MTC fails to come to the table with a better offer than the one was that was just rejected, the union will seek assistance from the Fair Work Commission in resolving the bargaining dispute.
We will await to hear from MTC and will advise all members as soon as we know anything. In the meantime, thank you once again for rejecting MTC’s insulting offer. You deserve a decent pay increase, and MTC should pay you what you are worth.
