UTS Bargaining Update March

UTS EB9 Meeting 13 was conducted for 3 hours on Tuesday 15 March 2022.The UTS Chief Financial Officer provided an extensive up to date UTS Financial Briefing. The meeting then discussed on Job Security, and it is clear that the parties continue to have differences.

An extra one hour meeting occurred on Tuesday 22 March to discuss Managing Change at UTS. Change Management is an important issue for staff as it underlines Job Security and the process of change at UTS for all Professional Staff.  Both Unions have presented UTS with a Change Management Flowchart. Time limitations prevented the CPSU NSW UTS EB9 bargaining team from discussing our flowchart. This will be carried over to the next UTS EB9 meeting. True consultation matters to us, as illustrated by our engagement with UTS around campus reactivation announcements lacking in that area.

Return to campus – Hot Desking win

Questions to UTS regarding the provision of N95 masks, RATs, and other increased Covid-19 safety measures were met with answers that were in line with NSW Health, not offering anything extra in terms of safety or assistance for the UTS community.
Airflow questions have revealed that UTS is monitoring CO2 (better in newer building), and air filters are above base levels but below the gold standard of HEPA filtration used in medical settings.
