Australian Unity Make the switch today – March 2017 (PDF version)
Dear Member,
Following the privatisation of Home Care last year there have been continuing issues with the transition and cut-over which your delegates and the CPSU/PSA are consulting with Australian Unity on.
In June/July 2016 Australian Unity retracted the percentage pay increase applied to your salaries. It was only through direct representation by the CPSU/PSA that a pay increase was paid to you at all. Without your union your pay rate would have stayed exactly as it was, potentially for many years to come.
In addition to this, your pay and conditions while currently protected will eventually need to be renegotiated. In the federal sector this is done through Enterprise Bargaining.
The strength of your union comes from you but relying on the employer to collect union dues puts the survival of your union at risk. Now more than ever it is important to be a member of the union.
That is why we are writing to you today to ask you to make the switch to pay by Direct Debit or Credit Card.
You can switch easily online HERE or download a direct debit/credit card form HERE.
We urge you to fill it out and return it today. You can contact the PSA on 1300 772 670 or by emailing .
Yours sincerely,
Stewart Little
General Secretary
