CPSU NSW update: Mercer CPSU NSW Enterprise Bargaining and member meeting

Your Mercer CPSU NSW Team conducted an all-member meeting on 15 December 2022 to discuss issues that mattered the most for the upcoming enterprise bargaining negotiations.

 Enterprise Agreement negotiations

The current Mercer Administration Services Enterprise Agreement 2019 has a nominal expiration date of 31 March 2023. On 6 December 2022 members were issued with the Notice of Employee Representational Rights (NERR).

The CPSU NSW is the default bargaining representative of members – you do not have to nominate the CPSU NSW.

It is critical that members encourage other staff to join the CPSU NSW so they can have a greater, meaningful voice in negotiations.

Whilst the previous Enterprise Agreement (EA) process with Mercer commenced on an “interest-based” bargaining approach, Mercer has flagged an interest in a more traditional process typically experienced under the Fair Work Act 2009 (Cth).

The next meeting date to discuss the EA is on 21 December 2022 where the CPSU NSW will advise Mercer on how we wish to proceed in bargaining.

The CPSU NSW bargaining team will shortly compile our Log of Claims for presentation in negotiations.

The members meeting was a productive opportunity for members to highlight what matters the most to them and to build momentum for substantial changes in the next EA.

Enterprise Bargaining Agreement survey

We want to know what matters the most to you – whether or not you are a CPSU NSW member. It is clear that Mercer’s pre-EBA negotiations survey captures only a limited understanding of the issues it wants to know about.

All responses will assist the CPSU NSW Bargaining Team in formulating our Log of Claims for negotiations.

All personal details are kept in the strictest of confidence.
