Incoherent TAFE Covid response settings put staff, students and public at risk

The CPSU NSW has written to the Managing Director of TAFE NSW calling for the temporary closure of high risk campuses during the lockdown – particularly those in the hot spot Local Government Areas of Fairfield, Canterbury-Bankstown and Liverpool. Click below for a copy of our letters.

Letter to Steffen Faurby, Managing Director TAFE NSW 15 July 2021

Letter to Steffen Faurby re TAFE NSW & COVID 19 Restrictions

While teaching has moved online, college facilities (such as libraries and labs) and administration remain open and operational putting staff, students and the public at unnecessary risk and making it more difficult for our public health officials to get ahead of the virus.

The current public health orders require employers to support, wherever possible, work from home arrangements.  TAFE NSW staff should make a work from home request directly with their manager, and contact your HR Business Partner and the CPSU NSW if you receive an unsatisfactory response.

If you have any questions regarding your rights at work during the lockdown, then you are advised to contact the CPSU NSW on 1300 772 679.
