UTS Branch of CPSU NSW Annual General Meeting

AGM – Oct 2020 (PDF version)

The UTS Branch of the CPSU NSW Annual General Meeting will be taking place on:

Wednesday 25 November 2020 via Zoom
Register in advance for this meeting HERE.

After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the meeting.

The AGM is an important meeting where:

  • the current Branch President provides an annual summary and list of your Delegates’ achievements
  • key positions within the branch are elected, where members like you volunteer to support fellow union members and colleagues
  • information is shared across faculties, divisions and campuses about current issues affecting Professional Staff
  • each member is able to contribute to what your UTS Professional Staff Branch will prioritise and focus on for the next 12 months
  • you, the members who form the UTS Branch, get the opportunity to meet, network and make friends with other Professional Staff union members.

Have you thought about nominating for the UTS Branch of CPSU NSW?

We ask that you consider nominating to become a CPSU NSW Delegate on the UTS Branch Committee. By volunteering a small bit of your time, you can learn more about your rights at work, how your rights are created and protected. You will also meet new colleagues, make new friends and help make improvements to the working lives of Professional Staff across the university.

The following positions are available for nomination as per the UTS Branch Charter.

  • One Branch Delegate for every 40 financial members or part thereof,
  • President, who will, inter alia, preside at meetings of the Branch and the Branch Committee,
  • Vice‐President, who will, inter alia, deputise for the Branch President,
  • Secretary, who will, inter alia, keep the minutes of all meetings of the Branch and of the Committee,
  • Assistant Secretary, who will, inter alia, assist and deputise for the Secretary,
  • Women’s Officer, who will, inter alia, promote the interests of women members of the Branch,
  • Membership Registrar, who will keep a register of all members of the Branch,
  • Members of the Higher Education Representative Council (HERC), as determined by the constitution of that body, who may also hold other offices in the Branch Committee,
  • Such other Committee members as may be determined by the Branch from time to time.

If you would like to nominate for a position you can do so by emailing and stating UTS AGM and the position you are nominating for in the subject line.
