TAFE Group 4 restructure update

TAFE Group 4 restructure update – August 2017 (PDF version)

Your union attended a briefing on 17 August for further consultation around the ETG, Regions and TAFE Digital Group 4 restructure. There will be further briefings for the remaining consultation period which your union will also attend.

Placement process and mapping

There is currently no guarantee of placement for TAFE Worker Levels 2. We are fighting to secure your positions within this restructure.

During the meeting held with TAFE, the CPSU NSW raised your concerns around the placement process and the disadvantages being faced by many. In particular, TAFE Workers Level 2 and many who have been in long term temporary and higher duty positions for less than 2 years, yet working for TAFE for longer. These issues see some being disadvantaged through no fault of their own.

Your union is seeking changes or exemptions to the placement process to allow a more equitable process to occur and to secure more positions for those of you already working as part of the TAFE team.

We are raising concerns around the Location Consideration of Placement and pursuing having a more localised focus on filling positions.

We are also putting forward a placement process that will allow current staff who may be displaced at the end of this process, to have priority and early access to any unfilled roles, prior to the position going to market. This will guarantee current staff the maximum opportunity to be placed.

The union will be advocating for CPSU NSW members only, so staff who are affected and not yet members will need to join before 28 August. If you know anyone in this position, please talk with them about joining now.

The union will continue to have consultation meetings with management to raise member concerns during the process so we need members to submit their feedback to us at .

Feedback closes 28 August so we need your feedback in by COB 23 August.

It is important that you continue to have a say and your voice is heard. You can support the work of the union and your local delegates by joining the CPSU NSW.

Please forward this to your colleagues so that they know their rights, and encourage them to JOIN the CPSU NSW at membership.psa.asn.au/Register.

Please note, CPSU NSW members are also members of the Public Service Association of NSW. The PSA is the Associated Body for, and resources and manages, the CPSU NSW.
