72 hours of disrespect

You would have seen in Monday’s Bulletin a recent timeline of what has been happening in relation to your enterprise agreement and how MTC appears to be intentionally dragging its heels.

Your Union wrote to them last Friday and requested they respond by COB Tuesday 8 August 2023 to explain a number of smaller issues that required clarification before your agreement should be put to vote.

It is now 72 hours since the expiry of that deadline and no response has been received.

This isn’t a teenage schoolkid being sloppily late with homework. This is a wealthy, large and well-resourced multinational choosing again to disrespect its workers and their Union.

We have written to them again this afternoon to signal our intention to seek orders in the Commission. You can see this correspondence here.

Settling an enterprise agreement is not supposed to be like this. In the experience of the CPSU NSW, 99 per cent of employers would want this completed and work collaboratively with us towards it.

Not MTC however. Roll on 2026.
