Macquarie University Enterprise Bargaining: Agreement reached


The CPSU NSW has continued its negotiations with the University and has now reached in principle agreement for a replacement agreement, the Macquarie University Professional Staff Enterprise Agreement 2023. 

The CPSU NSW invites your endorsement of the Agreement by completing the Survey Monkey HERE. Please complete it by COB on Thursday 10 August You are also invited to attend a Zoom meeting at 12.30 pm on Wednesday 9 August to discuss the Agreement.

The Agreement has a nominal term of four years, until 30 June 2026, and contains the following salary increases:

2 per cent                    Paid on 28 July 2022.

5 per cent                    From the first full pay period on or after the staff approval date

3.5 per cent                 From the first full pay period on or after 1 July 2024

3 per cent                    From the first full pay period on or after 1 July 2025

3 per cent                    From the first full pay period on or after 15 July 2026

The 5 per cent increase will be due to be paid when employees approve the Agreement, that is payable before all formal processes are completed.

 

Conditions and entitlements have been preserved, and improvements consistent with members’ Log of Claims, have been negotiated which include:

Managing Change

Improved consultation provisions related to review, and to implementation and change process; workload monitoring; increased emphasis on mitigation for job loss.

Flexible work arrangements

Greater scope to request and be granted flexibility arrangements.

Job security

Improvements to fixed term and casual conversion provisions. Limits to times when an individual staff member can be exposed to a change proposal involving potential job loss. Increased emphasis on mitigation measures during change processes

 Leave

Paid Domestic violence leave of 20 days (10 days for casual staff) Access to Special leave for casuals.  5 days paid leave for miscarriage and cessation of pregnancy leave provisions.

Workload

Strengthened workload provisions.
