Clarence Correctional Centre membership update

When Clarence Valley Correctional Centre opened its doors, the CPSU NSW was acutely that Serco was paying correctional staff well below the market average. For this reason, we lowered our membership fees, built a union, campaigned hard and ultimately won better pay and conditions for members.

In March 2023 a new Enterprise Agreement was approved by the Fair Work Commission delivering a pay rise of more than 14 per cent across the life of the agreement. This outcome would not have been possible without the collective strength, steadfast commitment and solidarity of members standing shoulder-to-shoulder on the picket line. It showed SERCO we are strong and will fight hard for what is decent and right.

From 1 July 2023 your membership fees will be adjusted to bring them into line with the rest of our union. This will mean a slight increase in your current rate.

We are already planning for the next round of Enterprise Bargaining with Serco and will be pushing for more improvements in pay and conditions in the next agreement. We are encouraging members to get in contact with us with your ideas and talk to your workplace delegates about what matters most to you at work.

We thank you all again for your strength, solidarity and determination!

Remember, your membership fees and your membership of the Justice Legal Fund are fully tax deductible.

The CPSU NSW also offers a range of exclusive value-added services, so that members can receive discounts on a variety of goods and services including, Emergency Ambulance Cover, Journey Insurance, Union Shopper, Legal Services and a whole lot more.
