The end is nigh (hopefully)

After months of sailing the interminably tumultuous seas of Enterprise Bargaining, it appears finally we may be about to reach landfall.

After intense and at times painstakingly detailed negotiations, the CPSU NSW has been successful in convincing the university to increase its salary offer to Professional Staff.

The new offer is a significant improvement on what was tabled in December 2022 and once finalised, is competitive in terms of current offers across the sector.

Most importantly, your union is confident the proposed increases that it has negotiated would be of great assistance to our members in relieving the relentless cost of living pressure they are experiencing at present.

The offer is for salary increases totalling 13 per cent across the term of the three-year agreement, in annualised increases of five per cent, four per cent and four per cent respectively.

The exact detail of when the increases take effect, what back pay would be available and when the agreement would expire are still to be settled.

The CPSU NSW has also been successful in attaining improvements to the life leave provisions which were a major sticking point in the last (failed) ballot.

Still in dispute between the parties are the operative span of hours and, although of little to no concern to CPSU NSW members, the Committees of Inquiry.

Once there is a final draft, the CPSU NSW bargaining team intend to put it to a meeting of members, with a recommendation, for endorsement before a ballot.
