Don’t settle for less: We’re here to help!

The CPSU NSW is here to help members as they transition from the Community Living Award (copied-State award) to the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Award 2020 (the SCHADS Award).

Following negotiations with the CPSU NSW, Life Without Barriers (LWB) has emailed staff advising that the “ rate of pay will not be lowered, and that current leave entitlements will be preserved”.

The CPSU NSW welcomes LWB’s commitment. However, our position is that your current take home pay should not change. This includes your base rate of pay and any allowances, penalty rates or overtime that contribute to the actual remuneration you receive – what you ordinarily take home.

For administrative staff there should be no loss in the hourly rate of pay if your full-time hours of work are increased from 35 to 38 hours.

The CPSU NSW will continue to do everything we can to protect and promote the employment interests of disability services staff in NSW.

You can contact our Member Support Centre on 1300 772 679.
