Consultation leads to better outcome for members

As a result of action taken by your union to bring Cerebral Palsy Alliance (CPA) to the consultation table, plans to stop the autopay system of wage payment were delayed until until 25 April to allow for staff to make any changes necessary to personal and financial arrangements before the new pay system was to take effect.

Originally CPA management gave transferred staff 20 days’ notice that the autopay system would cease. This meant that from 28 February staff would be paid each fortnight only for the hours they worked rather than an even split over the monthly roster period.

The CPSU NSW sought the assistance of the Fair Work Commission to resolve the dispute and after two rounds of conciliation an agreement was made to extend the period of notice about the change. This would provide a more reasonable timeframe for staff to make arrangements in the lead up to the change.
