TransGrid Enterprise Bargaining: Members’ update

The CPSU NSW and other unions met with TransGrid on 11 and 18 January in an effort to progress bargaining. We are pleased to report that TransGrid has made an improved offer after a previous package was rejected by staff in December 2021.

Unions, including the CPSU NSW, felt that the company’s earlier offer of a 2.5 per cent pay increase was inadequate when accounting for an anticipated spike in inflation, other industry considerations, and factoring in 0.5 per cent of the financial package included a superannuation component meaning, in effect, take home pay would only increase by two per cent pay each year over a three-year period.

After meeting with members in December and consulting with the other unions, we jointly resolved to pursue a better deal.

TransGrid have now tabled an improved package including:

  • Dec 2020 to Dec 2021 2.5 per cent pay increase
  • Dec 2021 to Dec 2022 3 per cent pay increase
  • Dec 2022 to Dec 2023 3 per cent pay increase
  • June 2022 Superannuation increase of 0.5 per cent

The CPSU NSW along with the other unions are now endorsing the improved package and are recommending staff “Vote Yes” when it is put to the vote on 7 March 2022.

If you have any concerns or issues regarding the current offer please contact CPSU-NSW Organiser Ian Braithwaite on 0400 859 630 or at .
