TAFE: KPI update

Yesterday, the CPSU NSW met with TAFE in relation to Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). The CPSU NSW had initially lodged a dispute as your union was aware that KPIs were being introduced in different areas within the Student Support Branch (SSB), and yet no consultation or discussion around this move had occurred. This dispute was intended to stop the introduction of KPIs until such a time as consultation occurred. Yesterday’s meeting was supposed to be the first consultation meeting relating to KPIs.

However, during the meeting yesterday, TAFE conceded it was in no way ready to consult over KPIs, within SSB or any other area at TAFE. This means that KPIs are off the table for the time being.

In the meantime, this information will be disseminated to management across the SSB sections. This means that all managers should be aware that KPIs have been put on hold and should therefore not be suggesting that employees work to KPIs. If you have been told that you need to work to certain KPIs, then please reach out to the CPSU NSW immediately so that we can take this up with TAFE.

In the meantime, if you know of anybody who isn’t a union member but would like to join, they can join online HERE.
