Land Registry Services: Contracts, Agreements, Awards; oh my!

With individual contracts emerging, the potential of an Enterprise Agreement on the table and an expiring Award, no one would blame you for being a little confused. Here’s what’s happened since we last spoke:

  1. You voted overwhelmingly in favour of negotiating an Enterprise Agreement.
  2. Your employer’s preference is to put you on individual contracts. Some members have already received contracts, however, it remains unclear whether these will be in line with what is proposed by your employer overall. We have already noticed that these contracts would be switching you from a 35-hour week to a 38-hour one, and notable changes to extended leave that are not better off than the Award conditions.
  3. In consultation with members, we are advising you not to sign any contract you receive. Please contact the CPSU NSW for further advice.
  4. We have requested further consultation with your employer regarding the future of your conditions of employment. We will keep you updated as the situation progresses.

This is the time to get people on board in order to achieve our common goals. Ask a colleague to join the union today!
