CSPL CMI Modelling changes

The CPSU NSW met with CSPL on the 3rd  August at the quarterly Joint Consultative Committee and was advised by the CMI General Manager (GM) with that the last re-structure now two years in was not working as expected. The GM indicated that at the next Board Meeting on 17th  August there would be a request for changes within the current modeling and a further update to the CPSU NSW would be initiated post the Board meeting.

A further meeting with the GM of CMI was held on the 23rd of August with a presentation outlining the changes requested at the Board meeting that had been supported. These changes were presented to CMI staff later that day and would be followed by a Q & A requested by the CPSU NSW.

These changes involve

  • 7 temporary position and re-instating 3 positions
  • Trialing AMA Software
  • Trialing visiting Medical Officer program
  • Commencing a temporary Tail Team
  • Moving Litigated claims from Worker Services to Legal Services
  • Worker Services focusing on Front End and Emerging Tail claims
  • Legal Services focusing on all Litigated claims and the Tail

The CPSU NSW was advised that the start of the NEW model would begin on the 1st September with the temporary Tail Team which would be hand-picked then progress with further changes from this date on. The GM advised that there would be Expressions of Interest for staff to nominate which area of CMI they would prefer to work and the CPSU NSW would be continually consulted along each stage of the change. It is understood that after the Q and A document was completed that EOI’s would be opened and considerations of the EOI’s would be made. The CPSU NSW was advised on 3rd  September that the EOI’s would go out to staff on that day and close on 10th September.
